Saulenko Alexander Fedorovich (born May 9, 1962, in the village of Novopetrovka, Berdyansk district, Zaporizhzhia region) is a Ukrainian pro-Russian politician and entrepreneur, collaborating with Russia. He currently serves as the head of the occupation administration of Berdyansk (since 2022), included in the seventh package of European Union sanctions.
Due to his support for the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, he has been convicted under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Part 2 of Article 111 (high treason) and Part 5 of Article 111-1 (collaborative activities).
He worked for some time in Russia to earn a living. Saulenko supported the policies of the Party of Regions and was a member of the “Union of Leftist Forces,” which advocated for Ukraine’s “neutral status.”
He was one of the co-founders of the LLC “Berdyansk Management Company” and LLC “Azov Bud Partner.”
In 2020, he ran for the Novopetrovka village council from the “For the Future” party but was unsuccessful in the elections.
After the capture of the southern city, Saulenko was among the first to support the occupiers and offered them assistance in their war against Ukraine.
He later became part of the inner circle of the traitor Saldo, who facilitated his appointment as the head of the occupation authority.
On March 20, 2023, he declared himself the “acting mayor” and head of the occupation administration of Berdyansk.
In this “position,” he executed directives from Moscow regarding the “transfer” of local enterprises to Russian monopolies and the reorientation of the city’s economy to serve the needs of the aggressor country.
Saulenko referred to Russians as a “brotherly nation” and called for establishing peaceful coexistence with them.
As a gauleiter, he was noted for the failure of a sham referendum, the export of Ukrainian grain to Russia via the Berdyansk port, and the organization of “ceremonial” events for “Russia Day” in the temporarily occupied Berdyansk district.
Additionally, he publicly signed a so-called “cooperation agreement with the government of Tver Oblast.”
It is also known that Alexander Saulenko was previously convicted for pedophilia.
