Mikhail Sergeyevich Tolstykh, better known by his call sign Givi, was born on July 19, 1980, in Ilovaisk, Donetsk Oblast. He was a Russian war criminal, a militant of the DPR. Recognized as a terrorist in Ukraine.
Tolstykh actively participated in the Russian occupation of Donbas. He fought for Donetsk Airport alongside Arsen Pavlov, known as Motorola, on the side of pro-Russian forces. He held the position of deputy commander of the “Somali” battalion, which was part of the armed groups of the unrecognized DPR.
During the conflict in Donbas, Tolstykh was repeatedly involved in brutal mistreatment of Ukrainian prisoners of war. He also actively participated in the shelling of towns and villages with heavy weapons, the harsh treatment of civilians, and looting.
Mikhail Tolstykh was eliminated on the morning of February 8, 2017, at 6:12 AM due to an explosive device in his office in Makiivka.
