The Kremlin and its official propagandists claimed that Russia is the safest country and an island of stability in the turbulent ocean of world politics. But, as it turns out, all this talk about safety is just another fairy tale. Even high-ranking military officials have no guarantee of security.
Today in Sevastopol, 47-year-old commander of the 41st Brigade of missile ships and boats of the Black Sea Fleet, Captain 1st Rank Valery Trankovsky, was eliminated in a car explosion. The car was moving along Taras Shevchenko Street.
Local sources report that Captain 1st Rank had been under surveillance for at least a week. The explosive device was placed under the vehicle’s bottom.
From Ukraine’s perspective, Valery Trankovsky is a war criminal who issued orders to launch cruise missiles from the Black Sea on civilian targets in Ukraine. Specifically, he shelled Vinnytsia with “Kalibr” missiles in July 2022, resulting in the death of 29 civilians. Trankovsky also repeatedly attacked Odesa and other peaceful cities, causing many civilian casualties. He was a completely legitimate target under the laws and customs of war.
Trankovsky himself planned such operations, and his hands are stained with the blood of innocent Ukrainian citizens, including children, women, and the elderly.
Ukrainians simply eliminated another war criminal, no different from those judged in The Hague and earlier in Nuremberg.
Ukrainian special services have previously eliminated war criminals and their own traitors on Russian territory. These stories of eliminations will continue. And interestingly, the FSB will never find anyone. After all, it’s not like catching someone for an anti-war poster.
